Randall Terry continues to lie to himself

He has written an article where he actually has the balls to claim that he loves his son "unconditionally" while still holding out for his son to change into a different person, to stop being a homosexual. I realize he's in a difficult position, because he supposedly fights for "family values" but he can't value his own family, so he coughs up this horrid self-justification that makes no sense at all:

Love and accept the person, but not their homosexual behavior as normal, and refuse to pretend that their homosexual behavior is positive or healthy.

Homophobes like to describe homosexuality in terms of behavior because that way they get to avoid the truth of what they are doing, which is discriminating against people for who they are. (Also, many of them like to focus on the behavior because it's dirty, dirty, dirty, erotic sex and any excuse to dwell on sex is a good excuse.) But most of them wouldn't describe their own sexuality in terms of "behavior". If you applied the way they talk about homosexuality to heterosexuality, you would find yourself saying ridiculous things like somebody's marriage is heterosexual "behavior".
You cannot love somebody and reject who they are. You are loving somebody that you want them to be, a phantom who isn't there. You are putting conditions on them, that you will love them when they quit being themselves. It's not love at all to pass judgement on your children for being homosexuals, and it's certainly not "unconditional" love.

And Randall Terry is totally in the massive group of homophobes who love to dwell on the dirty, dirty, erotic, and oh-so-appealing sex lives of homosexuals:

People don't choose the color of their skin – but a man chooses to have rectal sex. People don't choose their race – but a man chooses where he puts his genetilia. Let's be real.

The reason that people like Terry claim that homosexuals can "change" is because they look at themselves and think, "Well, I've refrained from putting my genetilia in a man's rectum, well, mostly I've refrained, so why can't you?"
And the answer of course is that they don't want to turn into unhappy, embittered, hateful assholes who have gone so out of their minds on hate that they don't even realize how wrong it is to turn out your own children.

Thanks, World O'Crap.

This reminds me, of course, of one of the best lines ever to grace the silver screen. From "Heathers":

"I love my dead gay son!"

Jake.
