What a great picture. About two months ago, old hard-hearted me took in a thin, bedraggled, obviously pregnant stray. Her name fits her description perfectly: Sweetie. Well, she was too far along to be spayed, so on July 4, she had her five kittens under my claw footed tub in the bathroom. They are all doing fine, walking unsteadily, fast on their way to discovering what joy it is to be a cat. But, to see Sweetie (who, the vet says, isn't but eight or nine months old herself) with her kittens - well - never a better or more loving mama could there ever be.
