June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month
Sponsored by the ASPCA, June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. If you're looking for a pet, I definitely recommend getting yourself a cat. If you've never had a cat, don't listen to those cat-haters out there. I don't know what kind of bug is up their butts, but their criticisms of cats aren't true. Cats are not mean or aloof. If you love on your kitten and cuddle it and play with it all the time, you will get yourself a cuddly cat.
Anyway, alot of shelters are participating in Adopt a Shelter Cat Month by reducing their prices. You can find local shelters in your yellow pages or at Petfinder. Most adoption centers will give you a cat that is already fixed and given its shots. We got Katy from the SPCA's adoption center here for $75, and she was fixed and given her shots, so it was a real bargain. If your cat isn't fixed, get him/her fixed right away. Not only does it help reduce cat overpopulation, really it does wonders to improve their personalities.
