Most liberal senator

Is John Kerry the most liberal senator? No, he's not the most liberal senator. But plenty of people would love it if he were the most liberal senator. Of course, I imagine that a lot of people think that the most liberal senator in the Senate isn't liberal enough. They can't wait until the day that they can proudly vote for the most liberal senator.
