Low-level Texas Republican corruption

Employees of UT got caught using the letterhead to solict funds for the Republicans. They are claiming it's all a big boo-boo and they aren't going to get in trouble for it, but it is difficult for me to believe they weren't trying to suggest that the University itself supports the Republican party.

The solicitations were raising money for incumbent Rep. Talmadge Heflin, R-Houston, and invited people to check boxes pledging $500, $1,000 or $2,500 for a ticket to the party. Those who did not want to donate could check "Aggie."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this document is misleading--it's unlikely as hell that a higher percentage of UT graduates are Republicans than A&M graduates. I would like to point out as evidence that Gov. Perry is the Aggie version of the metrosexual.
