This is a great smackdown of the weak coverage this Ben Barnes story is getting. Ivins wonders if journalists have lost all ability to research a story or put things into context. After all, this whole thing should be a coup. We've had whispers forever and ever about exactly what got the Shrub into the National Guard and now we have one of the major players stepping forward and taking credit that everyone already knew belong to him. And yet the smears are getting play, just like all the other unjustified smears that the Republicans cough up are getting play.
