Something I'm wondering about
Over at Alas, a Blog, a woman questioned whether or not one has a right to have sex without babies. I've heard this before--of course, it's a distraction, since it's not baby-less sex that is the right, but autonomy and privacy. Nonetheless, it's beloved because the idea is to make the snarling harlot feminists start defending their right to be a barren sack of shit of a woman. It doesn't work but it does cause one to wonder if the questioner really, truly acts on his/her words and risks making a baby every time he/she has sex.
If so, what kind of barren, sex-less existence is that?
Good god, if I risked pregnancy every time I hit the sheets, well, suffice it to say I wouldn't have the time to be spouting my opinions out to the world on a daily basis. I'd be too busy chasing all my children around.
Which, of course, is exactly the point.

Remember that to people with that mentality, pregnancy is a just punishment for immoral sexual behavior. They're not thinking about a middle-aged, married, stay-at-home mom with five kids who finds her diaphragm failed her the last time she made love with her husband. No, they're picturing those slutty liberated co-eds, hopping from bed to bed and MAYBE using condoms, and if you get knocked up you'll just have to live with it missy!
There's a healthy dollop of envy and fear of sex in there.
