What a great idea--Planned Parenthood is having pledge drives where people pledge a quarter to a dollar a picketer. It's a win-win situation--if the picketers keep coming, they are only raising money for the clinic. If the picketers decide to quit raising money, they lose their opportunity to stand around pretending the Holy Spirit has divested them of the sluttitude that is within these women with their abortions and their condoms.
This is my favorite part of the story:
According to organizers, when the program was first launched, some of the protesters would shout, "Count me, count me!" not realizing apparently that they were raising money for the organization they were protesting.
I'm sure they aren't so very stupid anymore.
A sign indicating the amount of money raised is continually updated, so protesters know how much money they are making for the affiliate every time they show up, some with children who are also counted.
Of course, it seems like they have decided to show up anyway. And why not? If there aren't women out there obtaining reproductive services in a central location, then how would they know where to find people to despise?
