The military is less religious than most of America

Or it would seem that way. I have to wonder if they are getting the military numbers from self-reporting on their applications. I have to wonder if alot of people in the military decline to offer their religious affiliation because they don't want their privacy violated any more than it has to be, but that's just a wild guess on my part.
Of course, I suspect the number of atheists and agnostics in the general population is under-reported, since a good number of them are officially members of some church and therefore might automatically think of the church they were raised in when asked, even if they don't go or believe anymore. I know that I don't believe, but if someone asked me what church I belong to, I might answer "Episcopalian" rather than raise eyebrows by saying, "I don't believe in God." Depends on the circumstances, I guess.
I also know that even though I'm really an atheist, I still tend to think of the Episcopalian Church as "my" church, and so I feel okay having an opinion on how silly the people who wanted to leave because of the gay bishop are being. And there are many, many more people who are agnostic and still belong to a church, would describe themselves as a member, and may even go quite regularly because even though they don't believe really, they still feel the need to belong.
The line between religious and non-religious is gray. To my mind, that's all the more reason not to have state-sanctioned religion, because if the individual churches in this country can't even get all their members to really think alike on religions, how can the state get a consensus out of the thousands of churches in this country?

Veteran's Day is November 11th and I hope that EVERY American will be flying the flag in honor of our troops fighting in Iraq and around the world to preserve our freedoms!

I can even tell you where to get one for free! Visit AmericanFlags.com right now and they'll send you a FREE American Flag. These flags were $19.99, but now they are FREE. You pay just for shipping/handling and they'll ship one to your door. (Actually - I've ordered more than 20 from them to give to my neighbors, as gifts, etc!)

Advertising can be a big problem otherwise. A lot of companies reserve a big chunk of their budgets to cover marketing expenditures.
