Ripping into Bush

Hilarious breakdown on a religious-journalist-only interview with Bush by Slactivist. My fellow UT employee Marvin Olasky was one of the journalists. Olasky, of course, is the father of the term "compassionate conservatism", the essence of which is throwing people out in the snow and telling them that if they get right with Jesus, then they'll get into heaven. See, "conservative", because there's no justice on Earth, but "compassionate" because you know, dying and going to heaven is nice work if you can get it.
Olasky and I have the same employer, meaning that the big proponent of privatization and letting the churches take care of it is getting taken care of by a public institution. It's easy to feel that God will take care of other people when the state pays your health insurance in full, like it does for us.
