Speaking well of the dead

Well, in a sense. Now that the right thinks it's okay to trot out footage of John Kerry defending you, yes you, against Reagan's corrupt government, and acting like he was an ass for being mean to a dead man, who wasn't dead at the time, well, the gloves are off. Time to reprint lyrics written by a man who's dead now. I'll trim for space.

I like that last lyric, it's prescient. Right now, they are feasting on the old man's body, using it to hide all sorts of cruelty and ugliness and downright undemocratic behavior. Liberals are offended--how dare they use Reagan's death for political gain? But it would do us well to remember they are honoring his memory, in a way. They are the same sleazebags doing whatever it takes that he was. Would Reagan turn up a chance to parade around the corpse of a political ally to gain sympathy? Hell no! We're talking about a man who turned his back on personal friends like Rock Hudson to score cheap points.
