The homophobic rhetoric has consequences

Even here in the bastion of liberalism known as Austin, we have our homophobes. Last month, four young men went to a local gay dance club, went over to the home of a man they met there, and once inside his house beat him up. And worse.

Once there, the four men allegedly forced the victim to sodomize himself with an object at knifepoint while they used homosexual slurs and denounced gay marriage. She also said the men made references to Old Testament verses dealing with homosexuality while they beat the victim with their fists. About two hours later, she said, the suspects robbed the man and left his home. She said the victim suffered minor cuts from the knife but was not stabbed.

One of the alleged assailants is a student and one a former student. How knee-deep is the crap that the supposedly Christian, anti-gay right dishes out that a group of young men can go to a dance club they know damn well is a gay club, pretend to be friendly to a man to get into his home, sexually assault him, and wield the Bible as if they had even an inkling about what the book actually says?
