From Greg at The Talent Show, Chris Matthews gets Falwell to say that he chose to be straight. I'm serious.

MATTHEWS: Did you choose to be heterosexual?
FALWELL: I did.
MATTHEWS: You chose it? You thought about it and you came up with that solution? That lifestyle?

Unfortunately, Falwell admitted later that he felt attracted to women, because he realized what an asinine statement this is. I would have loved to hear him discuss how he weighed the benefits and drawbacks of being straight vs. being gay and settled on being straight.
