A question about sluts?
Since the oft-used word is being batted around a bit lately. Everyone seems to have an idea what a slut is, but no one is quite able to articulate it. Slut isn't an inborn quality. No, you have to earn it. So what does it take?
Is it being nekkid in public, like Madonna likes to do? Or is it about your actual sexual liasons? If so, how many sexual partners does it take before you get the official mantle? Two or two hundred? And who gets to decide the number? And if we actually settle on a number, what do you do if you reach it? Do you have to automatically marry #____ or join a convent?

Sluts aren't the ones enjoying the sex, they provide enjoyment to others... Like the republican "yes" congress.

To me, the pejorative use of the word implies the woman in question is indiscriminate about sexual partners and usually has low to no self-esteem.

The definitive defintion, if you will, is a slut is the woman who's sleeping with your man. ;)

Billydoom is right. Sluts don't necessarily enjoy sex nor do they really want to get married. They have low self esteem, they most likely have issues with male adults from growing up and they treat their sex partners as conquests. I have rarely met a true slut who really likes herself. A slut is usually looking for acceptance from a 3rd party, not the guys she is sleeping with.
On the other hand, we use the term slutty for sexy or sleezy women we don't like and especially a woman who is flirting with our man or our man's girlfriend.
The reason men like sluts is because they know it's "no strings" sex.
