A sad non-surprise

What happens to young women when they haven't even yet become adults and yet there is outrageous amounts of attention being paid to the shape of their figures? Well, they may develop eating disorders, for one thing.
Everyone who makes sniggering jokes about the Olsen twins' teenage bodies and helped pile on more reinforcement that they are valued merely for having childish, Lolita-looks should really be ashamed. I realize that there are a number of reasons that girls develop anorexia, but surely not the least of these is the socially supported hatred of the female figure and the rewarding attention given to those who can diet until they've eradicated anything female-looking from their bodies.
