Tom DeLay will have to testify

Why the citizens of Sugar Land keep voting for this sorry son of a bitch I will never understand. But they finally delivered a subpoena to the man to force him to explain why it is that he pulled strings to get state troopers sent after the Democrats who fled the state rather than submit to a redistricting.

DeLay's contempt for his fellow Texans is evident in this statement:

"This is a cheap publicity stunt on something that has no connection to Tom DeLay," Jonathan Grella, a spokesman for the majority leader, said Thursday. "It's a frivolous matter that's already been rendered moot and everyone should consider the source."

Translation: He does not have to explain himself to the voters of Texas, particularly not the ones in Austin who think there's something strange about not being in the same Congressional district as their friends and neighbors like they used to be. The only people mad are a bunch of Austin hippies and who cares what they think?
