I lurk. Well, mostly. I posted one other time, but as you have a regular Maureen as well, that might have been confusing.
Got here when a Live Journal friend (Nixve) linked to the asking strangers to smile bit. Now I lurk here, on many of the sites you link to, and occasionally on the MRA sites (vox, nate). I used to get more work done. Now I know more about privilege debates and internet arguments.

I'm a sophomore in college who stumbled on your blog through Alas--winter break gave me a lot of free time to discover such things and its been a wonderful break (read: distraction) from homework now I'm back at school. I appear to be a lurker on every level. Not only have I never commented in your lovely blog, I have never commented – which is to say posted – in my own blog. That is to say, in either of my blogs.
I am going to go ahead and claim that the emptiness of my blog is somehow a symbolic critique of something. Sadly, I lack whatever insight is required to complete the foregoing rationalization of my obvious sloth.
In any case, love your insight and disposition towards the world.

I think I may have left a comment before, but I can't remember. Nor can I remember who pointed to your website. I'm reading via RSS feed, and I do love your take on our post-feminist culture.
I'm an Old-School Feminist, 45 years old, and I marched with my mother in support of a doctor that performed safe but illegal abortions in California when I was 7 years old.
I also marched with her in Monterey, CA for women's rights. I carried a sign that read "Why can't I wear pants to school?" It was of my own making.

Using dial-up so getting registered to comment - just haven't had time because there's so much great stuff to read I don't have time just to glance at all of it and dial-up is so slow I'm loathe to take time to register anywhere.

My three fav things about your blog: great writing for one; also the Austin thing because I'm in Atlanta, so I relate to being in a cool town in a real red state; also dig all the talk about music and pop culture from somebody I trust to be a smart feminist - being a geezer of limited means who lacks the technology to follow all the cool music yet just kills me and when I can finally start hearing all this stuff, you will be one of my guides.

All I can say is wow what a great job! The other half and I just got back from our friends house (well actually her friends house) and I needed a big break. I am working on a business project right now that is based on angeles car insurance los. I have literally been on-line for 4-5 hours doing research.
